Meet Our

Pastor Burke Montoya

Senior Pastor

It has been a privilege and honor to be serving as the Pastors of Way of Life Church for the past fourteen years. The leadership and those who call WOLC their home are an incredible group of generous and loving followers of Christ. They have adopted the biblical principle that the grace that comes “to you” must go “through you” to others (1 Peter 4:10). Along with serving our local community, generously supporting missionaries around the world is not something that we do, but who we are. We believe these are key characteristics of a healthy church.

If I could speak to my young ministry self I would say, “Pray more. Pray consistently, because prayer works.” That’s not to say that I never prayed, but prayer has become more important to me than anything else after thirty-three years of ministry. I would also say, “Don’t make any assumptions.” Don’t assume that life, marriage, your kids, etc. are going to be just fine simply because you’re in the ministry doing God’s work. Life and family requires a lot of intentional investing in order to get the kind of return you’re hoping for.

Being from Colorado, Caroline and I have grown to love the mountains. We love RVing in the plush outdoors of dense blue spruce, pine and aspen trees alongside refreshing streams. Biking and hiking has become a favorite of Caroline’s. And I love riding my classic Harley on the cool days in Arizona

Our kids and grandkids joyfully fill most of the gaps we have in between pastoring and the busyness of our lives. Our lives are normal, nothing extravagant, except the powerful truth of eternal life in Christ that we preach. Our stories are real because life is real. We hope to someday meet you all and have the opportunity to pour into your lives!

In Christ’s love,

Pastors Burke & Caroline Montoya

Associate Pastor

It's been a joy to serve at Way of Life Church for over ten years! When we first arrived, we were so young and fresh out of college. We knew we had a passion to serve Christ and help the local church grow. Today, we desire that more than ever. We've built our lives on the desire to know Jesus and make Him known to others. We would love the opportunity to get you involved in that process.

When observing the life of Christ throughout the gospels, the feeling most accredited to Him is compassion. We desire to model that in our lives and within the church. We want to be known as people of compassion and believe this should be a personal goal for all those serving at WOLC.

Erica and I have two young children, our son Zechariah and our daughter Ariel. They keep us on our toes and are our life's greatest joy. Erica and I both work for a Christian University in addition to our service within the church. As busy as life becomes, we love slowing down to watch movies, walk the mall, play with the kids, and have company over for the Monopoly Deal card game. Erica enjoys singing and selling jewelry. Zechariah loves drawing and making videos to post on YouTube (though we never seem to get that far.) Ariel loves dancing and talking me into giving her a lollipop. I enjoy playing drums and so if you see someone who looks like me behind the drum set on a Sunday morning; I don't have an identical twin.

So there's a little information about us. We would love the opportunity to learn about you! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Recipients of God's Grace,

Pastors Nick and Erica Zamorano
